French-door refrigerators blend functionality and form. They have stylish double doors that show the large fridge on top, and a freezer drawer below. These refrigerators stand out due to their unique features, like door-to-door dispensers and more expensive ice makers.

We asked Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and the founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the right home. They considered storage capacity as well as layout and energy efficiency as well as other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It also has a decent sized ice maker packed into the left door, but it isn't the largest I've seen.

You can alter the shelving in each compartment to create a customized storage layout for the items you need to keep. The GE PYE22PYNFS's interior design is stylish, too. Its LED lighting is a nice touch and the inside storage bins have an additional shelf that folds up beneath itself to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers include temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings a bit rough on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the all the features you'd expect from a fridge at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere around the world. It also has a lot of customization options. It also alerts you when doors are left open, when the fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be great it GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill which is a feature found in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to select the number of cups they would like to pour out. The fridge shows a countdown to reveal how much water is left however it's not as helpful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to appear like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that helps keep vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and dual compressors to ensure the best food preservation. The Ice maker is among the most efficient we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in water usage. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or a kitchenette with an elegant design and top of the best food preservation.

This fridge was rated the best in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0°F and never changed more than a tiny fraction - this is crucial to prevent freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, reaching the temperature that was set for the initial setting within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our tests.

Bosch has a reputation for top-of-the-line appliances and appliances, so it's not a surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app allows you to monitor and control your refrigerator remotely from your smartphone or tablet. The fridge is expensive and has great features and functions at a reasonable price.

While the fridge is an amazing appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a small space for shelves, so you may require some creativity when storing tall items. The shelves are not impervious to spills and could easily be damaged or stained by sharp items.  french style fridge freezer  can be easily removed from the refrigerator. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage in a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with an ordinary French door design, and two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded to provide more space for tall items. You'll also find a full width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

One of the best features of this refrigerator is that its ice maker is in the freezer, making it easy to move ice into the fridge for use when required. The freezer also comes with clever design features, like sliding drawers that allow you to organize your items. It also has a huge bin that holds plenty of frozen food items as well as an additional container for storing ice.

Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It allows you to control the temperature of your fridge as well as lighting from your smartphone. It's a good way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than other models we tested. This is likely due to its greater capacity.

The doors pose a problem with this fridge. The sunken handles allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still struggle to close them without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to blend the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also less expensive than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator with an icemaker, which makes it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't cost a fortune, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It's a basic fridge that might not be as attractive like some of its competitors however it has enough features to make a an excellent option. Its most notable characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is located over the two crisper bins, is another great feature. This drawer allows you to use the majority of the fridge's cooling power to this area, so that you can keep food items which need extra attention. You can adjust this feature using an adjustable slider that is located just on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, I discovered that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator didn't vary much from 38 degrees. This is a good performance, but isn't quite at the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tried.
